National Energy Administration Affi rming Total Installed Capacity of Wind Power over U.S.A

According to Wu Yin, Deputy Director of China's National Energy Administration, at the 2010 China Energy Enterprise Summit on Oct. 29, China would exceed U.S.A at the total installed capacity of wind power to become the global No.1 by the end of 2010.

Disclosed by the officials with National Energy Administration, by the end of 2010, China would see a total installed wind turbine capacity 35 million kw. The actual capacity may be higher, Wu Yin Added. But he didn’t forecast the detailed data.
By contrast, the situation of the wind power generation sector in U.S.A would be bearish. A report, issued recently by BNFF, predicted that the installed capacity of wind power in U.S.A of this year would decreased by 39% compared with the last year.
On Oct. 12, Steve Sawyer, the Secretary General of the Global Wind Energy Council, expressed at the news conference for the issuance of the report 'Global Wind Energy Outlook 2010' that the total installed capacity of wind power in China would possibly overwhelm that in U.S.A by the end of this year. But, the authority has not responded to his review before.
