Goldwind to Count Down Wind Power Connection to Grid 1

At the News Conference on the Result of LVRT Test to Goldwind 1.5MW DC Drive Permanent Magnet WIND TURBINE GENERATOR SET (WTGS) held yesterday, Chi Yongning, Deputy General Engineer of Renewable Energy Department of China Electric Power Research Institute, said that the domestic technical provisions about the wind power connection to grid (hereinafter referred to the Technical Provisions) has been at the counter-down stage. The exposure draft has been completed and received some responses. “It is estimated that the Technical Provisions would be officially implemented at the beginning of the next year.” He added. It is known that the Technical Provisions would be based on the assurance of the grid safety to put forward new requirements at the aspects of active power control, inactive power range, voltage control, LVRT capability and check of wind power connection to grid. The LVRT means that when the grid failure or the disturbance makes the pressure dips at the point where the wind power connects the grid, the WIND TURBINE GENERATOR SET (WTGS) could keep uninterrupted synchronous operation and meanwhile maintain the grid stable if the pressure dip is at the allowed level.
